About

How matching works

We list 47 printers on sale today. Every figure comes from the manufacturer’s own spec page, checked October 30, 2026, and every printer page links its sources.

The quiz

Each of the 7 answers becomes a test every printer is scored on: does it fit the budget, suit what you print, handle the colours you want, fit your prints, suit your experience, sit well in your room, and lead on the thing you care about most. Budget weighs the most, then what you print, then colour. The bigger your budget, the more weight goes to capability: size, speed, colours, chamber heating and how recent the printer is.

A printer more than a fifth over your budget is marked down hard rather than ruled out, so a near miss can still appear with a warning. Scores are relative: a 90% match is the printer that best fits your answers, not a rating of the machine. Try the quiz.

Will’s takes

Every printer page has my take on it: who it’s for, who should skip it, and a one-word verdict. Unless a take is marked Hands-on, it’s my read of the specs, price and where the printer sits in the market, not a test report. Verdicts never affect quiz scores.

Prices

Prices are typical US prices for the base model. Bundles, sales and other countries differ, so check the price at the retailer before you buy.

Affiliate links and sponsorship

Buy buttons go through our own link and may carry an affiliate tag, which pays us a commission when you buy, at no extra cost to you. It never changes a score, a spec or the order of a list.

Brands may sponsor a placement. A sponsored printer is always labelled Sponsored, and sponsorship never touches match scores or spec data.

Who’s behind this

Hey, I’m Will.

I built 3D Printer Match because picking a printer shouldn't take a week of forum threads and YouTube reviews. I dig through the spec sheets, line up the numbers, and tell you straight which one I'd buy.
